Wart Reduction/Removal

Warts are small, rough, viral growths on the skin. They are very common and are usually spread by direct skin-to-skin contact or indirectly through shared contact with contaminated surfaces.

Warts do not usually cause any other symptoms in people with normally functioning immune systems and usually resolve without treatment, although this can take months or years.

In most cases, cryotherapy or acids are the first treatment for warts. However, diathermy targets the ‘mother warts’. It is effective in 65-85% of cases and is the go-to solution for persistent warts.

Filiform warts are a type of common wart that can appear. They have a distinctive appearance: long and narrow, with small, flesh-coloured or light brown projections up to 2 millimetres long. They are often found around the mouth, nose, and eyes, but can also appear on the neck or chin.
