To Juice or not to Juice

It seems we are always going crazy over one juicing diet or another so I decided to do a little bit of research to see just how good they really are…….?

Lately I have heard a lot about the ‘Nutri Bullet’ and it seems to be the easy way to get the best nutritional benefits for your body and quickly.

Main pros…..

  • Helps extract all nutritional value in fruit and vegetables
  • Quick and easy if you have a busy lifestyle
  • If you are not a fruit or veg fan then you can easily sneak things in that you wouldn’t necessarily like on their own.
  • Juices and smoothies are easily digested due to the breakdown of the fibres. They can help detox your body, reduce the risk of cancer and aid in weight loss amongst many other health benefits.

So if this sounds like something that would suit you on the build up to Christmas before the mince pies, mulled wine, and cheese boards come out then I have a found 3 yummy recipes to help you on your first day……..

Berry breakfast

1 cup of frozen berries

1 teaspoon of honey

1 cm grated ginger

3/4 cup of almond or rice milk

blend these until smooth and stir in 2 table spoons of rolled oats to make it super filling to start your day

Green me

1 cup of spinach

1/2 cucumber

1/2 lime

1/2 pear

1/4 avocado

1/2 cup of water

blend until smooth…….

Crazy smoothie

1 avocado

1 banana

1 cup of blueberries

1 Cucumber

1/2 cup of coconut water

blend until smooth……..

See see how you get on with these. And maybe try and makeup some of your own recipes and let us know if they work or not. Good luck blending or juicing!!!!!
